Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a
Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer
to join its team in Roy, UT; Bellevue, NE; Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO supporting the Sentinel Program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. What you will get to do includes working with MBSE, requirements development, system modeling, and collaboration across multiple engineering teams to support system, segment, element and unit level activities. Responsibilities
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), development of requirements and multiple system engineering models Performing customer requirements elicitation leading to Requirements Development Coordinate with the System Engineering and Command & Launch Segment System Engineering Teams Support system, segment, element and unit level trade studies Definition of high-level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, decomposition, allocation to architectural elements, and tracking through design, verification, integration, and operational validation Support a team of engineers to create, mature and present technical charts for milestone meetings and demonstrate team readiness Identify required contractual and non-contractual deliverables and drive updates to closure Coordinate with diverse engineering design teams to manage the technical baseline Basic Qualifications
Systems Engineer (level 2): Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience; US Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain SAP approval 6 months of systems engineering experience with understanding of systems engineering principles and processes For level 3 (Principal Systems Engineer): Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering or related STEM field, or a master’s degree with related experience (PhD with 1 year), plus 1 year of systems engineering experience Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain SAP approval Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated communication skills and flexibility Proficiency in MS Office Current DoD Top Secret clearance with SAP access Experience presenting to project/program management and customers Experience with DOORS and CAMEO; familiarity with SysML/UML; CORE knowledge Strong technical writing and team-building skills Subcontractor technical oversight experience Position Benefits
