Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project Manager. Assist in the development of MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule. Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in complete project estimate. Individual possesses the ability to assist in coordination/management of all trades throughout build process. Assist in selection of qualified bidders and negotiate final prices. Assist in the preparation of various reports, e.g. cost to complete, monthly billings and status reports. Review all drawings, e.g. P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc. when they are issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times. Assist in pricing work, draft changes and change orders to be reviewed by MEP Project Manager. Assist in ensuring customer satisfaction with the project. Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion. Schedule work, including subcontractors. Assist in the productivity and quantity tracking of the subcontractors installed work. Determine materials, equipment and tools needed. Secure appropriate supply sources. Set up and close out construction site. Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project. Participate in the company’s safety portion of the QMS program. Responsible for procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules. Confer with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays. Consult with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce. Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports and/or direction from MEP Project Manager. Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards in accordance with company, industry standard, and job specifications. Ensure the company QMS program is used and maintained in accordance with company standards. Generate reports and traceability for continuous improvement. Communicate, implement and enforce Gray’s safety program on site. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR a minimum 15 years related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree. Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired. Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents. Strong people management skills. Must possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications, tablets and smartphones. MS Project or other scheduling software is a plus. Strong work ethic, energy, self-motivation, teamwork, and a passion for collaboration and professional development. Ability to think independently and manage without direction. This position requires travel as projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside of the U.S. The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA, but would be required to travel to the project site per Gray’s travel policy. While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear. They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision. The team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The team member is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. The noise level is generally moderate to loud. Overtime may be required. Supervisory Responsibilities
May lead multiple subordinate supervisors and other support staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
