Campus Operations Manager — Washington, D.C. Overview

The Chicago School seeks a skilled Campus Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day campus operations, building and university systems, and services for faculty, staff, and students. The Manager reports to the Campus Director and acts on their behalf as needed, serving as a primary point of contact for campus stakeholders and maintaining a culture of responsiveness and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

Monitor and enforce university and departmental policies, procedures, and rules with employees, students, and guests, in collaboration with the Campus Director. Direct and plan essential campus services such as reception, security, building maintenance, and mail services. Oversee campus operations scheduling, class schedules, campus events, and management of campus calendar systems. Respond to work requests from the campus community to resolve operational issues safely, effectively, and cost-efficiently. Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers for campus operations projects as directed by the Campus Director. Oversee day-to-day facilities operations, including maintenance, repairs, minor renovations, and preventive maintenance programs. Monitor facility budgets, track expenses, analyze costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Conduct regular safety inspections, address maintenance concerns, and ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards. Manage security systems, access control, and emergency preparedness protocols for the campus. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support facility-related needs for events, relocations, or expansions. Assist with federally mandated Annual Security Reports (ASRs), collect and analyze data, and prepare submission-ready reports while ensuring regulatory compliance. Stay updated on federal regulations and reporting guidelines to maintain compliance. Assist in maintaining comprehensive emergency operations plans, coordinate drills, and develop communication, evacuation, and crisis management procedures. Qualifications

Education: An Associate or Bachelor's degree with three years of related experience, or a high school diploma with five years of related experience. Experience: Demonstrated facilities management experience (maintenance, repairs, vendor management), preferably at a university or campus level. Licenses: Valid U.S. Driver’s License. Schedule: Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; some Mondays and Sundays may be required in exchange for another day off. Physical: Ability to lift, push, and pull approximately 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of policy and procedure development, implementation, and maintenance. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for operational needs. Understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety standards specific to the Washington, D.C. area. Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities. Experience supervising and collaborating with diverse teams. Strong written and oral communication skills for administrative staff, colleagues, and students. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management. Ability to work independently and proactively. Compensation And Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $55,000–$85,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation. Benefits include paid time off, medical and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement plan with employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement.
