Overview
Senior Risk Business Analyst role at Corebridge Financial. The Analyst drives compliance to the Operations risk and control framework across multiple life and annuity lines of business and TPAs. The role focuses on tracking, reporting, and mitigating operational risk events and reports to the Vice President, Operations Risk and Controls. Who You’ll Work With
The Operations Risk and Control team is part of the first line of defense and engages multiple business units, including Individual Retirement, Life, and Retirement Services and TPAs. You will work directly with operational business leads and SMEs, with key stakeholders in Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, Audit, and senior management. Responsibilities
Monitor operational risk events and perform analysis. Identify trends and assess operational risk implications. Extract risk data from various data sources, leveraging Excel and other data management tools. Ensure accurate Archer operational risk data. Review and challenge Business Unit Operations and TPA teams on root cause assessments and corrective action plans. Drive urgent risk remediation and solutions. Reduce risk recurrence by assessing control effectiveness and identifying control improvement opportunities. Prepare monthly risk and control dashboards. Host meetings and deliver reports to senior management, stakeholders, and 2nd/3rd lines of defense. Identify potential control gaps and create Risk Findings in Archer. Undertake risk-related projects to mitigate organizational risk. Develop project plans, track milestones, and drive projects to completion with regular status updates. Ensure Operations teams comply with the Operations risk and control framework, including timely and accurate reporting. Maintain strong partnerships and communicate effectively with Operations, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Legal and Audit. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university plus 5-10 years of relevant experience Strong relationship management skills Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel Excellent problem solving, thinking, and troubleshooting skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation abilities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to handle multiple high-priority demands in a fast-paced environment Financial services background required; Life and Annuity experience preferred Work Location
Based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX office with a hybrid work policy (office and remote). Estimated Travel
