The opportunity EY Private Tax is a growing practice within the organization, serving privately held companies. Clients range from family‑owned businesses to private equity owned companies; many are high‑growth private companies. You will work on technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects with support and training from experienced colleagues, and opportunities to progress to senior manager. Your Key Responsibilities Support senior managers through partners in providing tax services, balancing time between compliance and planning, and interacting directly with clients. Prepare or review federal and state tax returns for U.S. partnerships, including foreign reporting for cross‑border matters (foreign partnerships, foreign corporations, foreign disregarded entities, foreign affiliate reporting). Provide tax research, draft tax memoranda, and assist in quantitative modeling for private client tax advisory services. Identify and communicate significant tax matters to Managers and Senior Managers. Liaise with other service lines and subject matter professionals; build long‑term client relationships with a tailored service approach. Explain complex tax issues to non‑tax professionals and clients; share technical knowledge with the team. Mentor and develop a team of tax professionals, review work, and ensure team members have the necessary tools and opportunities to excel. Identify and respond to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes. Skills And Attributes For Success To qualify for the role, you must have: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with tax, business, or financial planning experience. CPA certification or membership in The Bar. Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, with the confidence to challenge colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization. Ability to work in a balanced hybrid environment and willingness to travel as needed. Ideally, you will have: A commitment to continuing learning. Proficiency with tax software such as RIA, CCH IntelliConnect, OneSource, BNA, or Lexis Nexis. Experience with Gift, Estate, and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus. Experience in managing, coaching, and mentoring junior colleagues.
