Overview
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity ideal for someone with a proven track record in managing complex payroll functions across multiple platforms and business units. You'll oversee all payroll operations, ensure regulatory compliance, lead a high-performing team, and partner cross-functionally to drive improvements in payroll systems and processes. Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end payroll operations for both shoreside and shipside staff, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Supervise payroll processing, calculated fields, pay sheet creation, and stock-based compensation including RSUs and ESPP. Forecast weekly payroll needs in coordination with Treasury. Oversee tax, benefits, and compliance reporting, including adherence to SOX and federal/state laws. Lead audits and maintain internal controls; act as liaison with internal and external auditors. Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Compensation, Finance, IT, and Accounting to align and optimize payroll processes. Drive system automation and continuous process improvement, particularly within Workday and PeopleSoft platforms. Build scalable processes for recruiting, developing, and reviewing payroll staff performance. Ensure top-tier service delivery to internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field. 10+ years of progressive experience in payroll and/or finance operations. Experience in both shoreside and shipside payroll environments required; cruise industry experience is a plus. Deep knowledge of payroll compliance, GAAP, SOX, and employment contracts, including union agreements. Technical Skills
Expertise with Workday, PeopleSoft (North American Payroll), ADP Smart Compliance, and SmartView. Advanced Excel and MS Office skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to manage deadlines, lead teams, and drive process improvements. Preferred Certifications
