Total Wine & More is seeking an
Assistant Buyer
to join our Hard Beverages team in Bethesda, MD. In this role, you will support the buying team with item setup, compliance, reporting, and supplier communications for categories such as ready-to-drink cocktails, seltzers, and other hard beverages. You will play an important role in ensuring timely and accurate execution of category initiatives, while gaining foundational experience in retail buying and merchandising. You will
Support the hard beverages buying team by setting up new items, maintaining accurate product information, and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
Assist with supplier communications, including preparing agendas, documenting meeting notes, and tracking next steps.
Manage digital assets for assigned items, ensuring images and product details are accurate for online and marketing use.
Prepare and distribute sales, inventory, and performance reports to support category planning and decision-making.
Help coordinate promotional activities, including item setup, pricing checks, and execution tracking.
Maintain project lists, tracking sheets, and organized electronic files to support efficient workflows.
Partner with Supply Chain and Store Operations to resolve store-level issues and ensure smooth execution of programs.
Provide general administrative and analytical support on ad hoc projects as assigned and perform other duties as needed to support the Hard Beverages team.
You will come with
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field.
0-1 year of experience in merchandising, retail operations, or a related field (internships count).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, formulas) and Outlook; SharePoint or PowerBI experience a plus.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
Interest in the alcoholic beverage industry, with curiosity to learn more about hard beverages and merchandising.
