Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of Maintenance Manager II, the incumbent is responsible for implementing, evaluating, and sustaining major programs and maintenance policy in a District 5 Maintenance Region. The Maintenance Manager I will provide supervision and guidance to assigned region field Maintenance Area Superintendents. Incumbent will be headquartered at the Santa Barbara office during core business hours, Monday through Friday. Incumbent must have a valid California class C driver's license. Position is located in Santa Barbara. Translation Services available upon request. PARF# 05-6-608 / JC-493478. Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Caltrans Maintenance Manager I exam. Working Conditions

Incumbent will be working in an outside and inside environment. In the base of operation, incumbent will work in a climate‑controlled office under artificial light. However, due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate. Incumbent may expect to be outside in all kinds of weather. May be performing duties at the side of the road or in the roadway itself, where may be exposed to vehicular traffic. Incumbent may be required to work in emergencies caused by accidents, storms and floods, etc. Minimum Requirements
