Overview
Data Center Logistics Manager, DCC Communities. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Be a part of operating the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure and help drive innovation and simplification across local, regional, and cross-regional scales. Note: This role requires training in Manassas, Virginia for up to 3 months. Responsibilities
Developing performance goals and objectives to achieve customer promise expectations and ensure accuracy and quality. Building and executing productivity plans by reviewing work forecasts, determining productivity requirements, and partnering with other Logistics Managers to balance labor. Determine timelines that meet business and customer expectations; ensure they are met. Partnering with the management team to establish and maintain quality control standards. Remove roadblocks and obstacles for major initiatives. Act as Logistics business leader by communicating with internal and external teams, developing team strategies and goals, ensuring compliance with legislation and policy, and supporting recognition and communication programs. Act as Logistics people leader by managing staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, and development opportunities; facilitate team coordination and maintain a focus on growth. Champion continuous improvement by standardizing processes, contributing to deployment plans, and measuring launch effectiveness (PDSA). Conduct monthly audits using a standardized checklist and lead team meetings; may represent Logistics locally or globally. Travel between sites and across the cluster as needed to support the team and business. Note: Training in Manassas, Virginia for up to 3 months. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with email, Microsoft Office (or equivalent), online tools, working with database front ends, and deriving reports and presentations. 3+ years logistics management experience and 3+ years training/managing people and teams. Must be accessible at all times via telephone, text, or similar messaging platforms. Proven ability to develop talent through mentoring with a track record of vertical team development. Strong leadership in project execution, stakeholder alignment, clear performance targets, and accountability for outcomes. Preferred Qualifications
Ability to figure things out without a road map and transform organizations; willingness to re-frame and solve problems. Strong decision-making skills with autonomy and discretion. Ability to prioritize and understand constraints in both customer and business contexts. Ability to establish credibility and work with key internal partners to get things done. Excellent problem-solving capabilities in managing process variability and system dependencies while mitigating data availability constraints. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
