Overview AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access for customers. Be a part of operating the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure. AWS is seeking a bright, motivated, hardworking individual for the Data Center Logistics Manager position. This role requires analytical strength, attention to detail, open communication, and the ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

Logistics Operations Leader: guarantee smooth daily, monthly, and yearly operations to meet customer and business needs; include developing performance goals, building productivity plans, determining timelines, partnering on quality control, and removing roadblocks for major initiatives.

Logistics Business Leader: act as the primary point of contact for communication/escalation; develop team strategies, vision, and goals; ensure compliance with legislation and policy; manage information flow from leadership; create and support recognition and communication programs.

Logistics People Leader: manage staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, performance levels, process change; facilitate team coordination; focus on growth and development; distribute opportunities fairly; conduct regular 1:1s; ensure coaching documentation; recruit new internal hires.

Process Improver: champion continuous improvement; standardize processes; contribute to deployment plans; teach documentation, processes, tools, and metrics; conduct post-deployment evaluations; advise on improvement strategies.

Audits: conduct monthly audits using a standardized checklist.

Meetings: lead team meetings; may represent Logistics locally and/or globally.

Travel: travel between sites and across the cluster as needed.

Note: role requires training in Manassas, Virginia for up to 3 months.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience with email, Microsoft Office (or equivalent), online tools, working with database front ends, and deriving reports and presentations.

3+ years logistics management experience; 3+ years training and managing people and teams.

Must be accessible at all times via telephone, text, or similar instant messaging platforms.

Proven success in developing talent through mentoring with vertical team development.

Strong leadership in project execution, stakeholder alignment, clear performance targets, and accountability for outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to figure things out without a road map and to transform organizations; ability to re-frame problems.

Strong decision-making skills; operate with autonomy and discretion.

Ability to prioritize and understand constraints in both customer and business teams.

Ability to establish credibility and work with key internal partners to get things done.

Excellent problem-solving capabilities in managing process variability and system dependencies, while mitigating data availability constraints.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary with knowledge, skills, and experience.
