The position is an excellent opportunity for an accountant interested in exposure to a full spectrum of private equity accounting including both the management company as well as individual fund accounting. Primary responsibilities will be comprised of month-end/quarter-end close and reporting, account and financial analysis, financial support of management company operations, assisting with annual audits and tax returns as well as payables and receivables. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, small team environment, possesses strong analytical, business, technology and communication skills, as well as demonstrates efficient organization and time management skills. Responsibilities Closing the books at month-end / year-end and maintaining the general ledgers of multiple entities Supporting and preparing the monthly management company reporting package Assembling information for and analyzing financial data from the Fund Administrators Monitoring and reconciling bank accounts and recording cash receipts / disbursements Managing accounts payable by reviewing invoices and contracts, and communicating with various vendors Reviewing expense reports and credit card statements Updating monthly forecasts and supporting annual budget process Drafting and reviewing capital call notices, distribution notices and other investor-related communications Preparing quarterly reimbursement invoices Supporting annual external audits of the financial statements, including preparing required schedules Assisting with the compilation of year-end financial schedules/reports to send to tax return preparers Working closely with internal teams to provide support as needed Qualifications BA/BS in Accounting or Finance / Master’s degree in Accounting preferred CPA license or CPA track preferred Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, ideally in financial services or public accounting Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP (experience with investment accounting is a plus) Proficiency in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong work ethic/integrity and excellent attitude Proactive and demonstrated self-starter Eager to learn and grow within the role Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy Strength in multi-tasking Seniority level Associate Employment type Full-time Job function Accounting/Auditing Industries Financial Services and Venture Capital and Private Equity Principals Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Boyne Capital by 2x Inferred from the description for this job Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Paid maternity leave Paid paternity leave Disability insurance Get notified when a new job is posted.
