25% Program Coordination — Coordinates and administers one or more financial aid programs; interprets requirements, policies, and procedures; ensures compliance with federal/state regulations; develops methods and procedures to improve student services; analyzes and resolves program problems; serves as a resource to systems programmers and campus staff; prepares analytical reports and updates staff at meetings and trainings. 20% Appeals Processing — Reviews and decides on all appeals (e.g., dependency overrides, on-time status, satisfactory academic progress, budget increases); analyzes documentation and makes adjustments to need analysis methodology and awards as appropriate. 30% Advising — Advises students, parents, campus staff, and the public on financial aid processes, eligibility, and budgeting; conducts problem-solving counseling and coordinates with other departments as needed. 20% Need Analysis — Applies need analysis and award packaging to applications and supporting documents; determines aid eligibility and authorizes original or revised awards; assists lower-level staff with complex cases. 5% Workshops/Committees — Conducts workshops, participates on committees, and contributes to process improvements through staff meetings and training. Other duties as assigned, including adherence to UC vaccination policies and compliance requirements. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training; proven adaptability and ability to meet multiple deadlines. Preferred Qualifications:
Financial Aid administrative experience; basic knowledge of federal programs and the application process. Details
