Overview

Tax Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing at BDO USA. The role involves advising clients on transfer pricing implications related to business objectives, recommending alternate courses of action, and ensuring compliance with transfer pricing regulations. The position includes marketing, networking and business development within the area of experience and specialization and recognizing potential changes in tax policy and applying new policies to tax compliance. Job Responsibilities

Research: Completes financial analysis related to intercompany transactions to evaluate industry and client data to document appropriate intercompany pricing policies. Identifies when research is appropriate and frames issues to be researched. Tax Compliance: Determines scope of transfer pricing projects, establishes budgets and timelines, drafts and presents proposals to prospects; administers economic analysis and composes final reports; ensures client compliance with transfer pricing requirements and proposes year-end reviews; assists in selecting transfer pricing methods under IRS regulations and OECD guidelines; ensures engagement letters are adopted; conducts detailed reviews of facts and data to identify issues; manages engagements to meet metrics; completes project planning and scheduling. Tax Controversy: Represents clients before tax authorities on contested issues as appropriate, with guidance from senior staff. Transfer Pricing Consulting and Documentation: Develops and implements transfer pricing methods for various transactions; prepares planning and documentation reports; analyzes regulations and their applicability; identifies issues; communicates findings to senior management; collaborates with internal/external experts; identifies opportunities for cross-selling; provides transfer pricing advice aligned with client goals. Tax Provision and FIN 48: Applies transfer pricing concepts to tax provisions and FIN 48; reviews tax provisions related to transfer pricing; partners with Assurance to plan tax accrual reviews. Practice, Staff and Business Development: Delivers client presentations, prepares proposals and engagement letters, researches transfer pricing topics, summarizes developments, drafts alerts and presents training materials; supports special projects to develop the practice and improve processes. Tax Related Software: Uses tax research databases and related software; familiarity with statistical packages preferred. Other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises day-to-day workload of STS Transfer Pricing Managers, Senior Associates and Associates; ensures training on tax software; evaluates performance and supports professional development; delivers performance feedback and evaluations; acts as Career Advisor where appropriate. Education and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field, required Advanced degree, preferred Experience

Eight (8) or more years of prior experience required Experience in a transfer pricing practice, required Experience supervising professionals on projects or engagements, required Experience reviewing tax provisions from a transfer pricing perspective, preferred Experience applying knowledge of the interplay between transfer pricing and other tax areas, preferred Software

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Exposure to tax research databases and related software; knowledge of statistical analysis software preferred Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication, strong analytical and research skills Solid organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines; ability to multi-task Experience leading a team of tax professionals and delegating work; ability to build relationships with internal and client personnel Executive presence; ability to interact with professionals at all levels; ability to research topics and communicate analyses; ability to network and develop business within Transfer Pricing Strong project management and collaboration abilities Salary and Benefits

Individual salaries offered are determined after consideration of qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. National Range: $99,750 - $262,500; Maryland Range: $99,750 - $262,500; NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $99,750 - $262,500; Washington DC Range: $99,750 - $262,500. About Us
