Master Data Management/Governance – Senior Manager

EY's Analytics and Data team is seeking a Senior Manager focusing on helping clients define and drive data management strategy and technology implementation. This role requires a seasoned professional who can define a master data management design and guide clients through adoption and implementation of advanced technologies. You will design and apply comprehensive methods, practices, policies, tools, and processes to govern and control the lifecycle of data assets, perform maturity assessments, and articulate information strategies aligned with business objectives.

Your Key Responsibilities

Lead engagement delivery and manage client relationships on a daily basis.

Develop resource plans and budgets for engagements.

Define and execute analytics and data governance strategy for clients, aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Develop and implement robust data governance frameworks, including policies, data stewardship models, roles, and accountability across the organization.

Oversee Master Data Management (MDM), metadata management, and data cataloging practices.

Ensure compliance with data privacy, protection, and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of analysts, engineers, and data stewards.

Design scalable, secure data architectures to support BI and advanced analytics needs.

Oversee cloud-based data management platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Hadoop) for ingestion, storage, and processing.

Drive analytical models, data pipelines, and visualizations to generate actionable insights.

Utilize advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to enhance operational efficiency and reduce cost.

Translate business initiatives into prioritized use cases with measurable ROI and manage delivery across multiple domains.

Develop and champion data literacy programs and change management initiatives.

Communicate findings through dashboards and visualizations tailored to business and technical audiences.

Build and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders across operations, IT, engineering, and executive leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree) in Engineering, Advanced Data Analytics, or a related technical field; prior consulting experience required.

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in data analytics, data governance, or data strategy (oil & gas preferred).

Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools (e.g., SAP MDG, Informatica MDM).

ERP implementation experience including full implementation cycles of SAP with SAP MDG component.

Strong understanding of Data Governance principles, data quality, stewardship models, compliance, and policy creation.

Proficiency with data analytics tools and platforms (SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, Cognite, Palantir, Dataiku, etc.).

Hands-on experience with cloud and data engineering tools (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, etc.).

Ability to lead large-scale digital transformation engagements, manage delivery risk, and foster trusted client relationships.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Willingness to travel internationally as needed; valid US driver’s license.

Ideally, you’ll also have

Experience leading cross-functional teams with focus on mentorship and professional development.

Advanced analytics skills to drive data-driven decision-making and innovation.

Familiarity with data mesh concepts and decentralized data ownership models.

Certifications in Azure Data Engineer, Snowflake, Databricks, or related platforms.

Experience with Data Office Organization and IT Architecture.

Strong emotional agility to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics.
