Overview
The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a
Restaurant General Manager
to join the Verdana leadership team. The Veranda dining experience offers al fresco seating with ocean views, serving American favorites inspired by The Del’s Southern California roots, with a California-forward wine list and classic cocktails.
Located on Coronado Island, this 28-acre property features 750+ rooms, 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets including 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.
Responsibilities
Direct and administer the activities and services of the designated restaurant(s) to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations, including guest service standards, product quality, cost controls, marketing, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy enforcement, and meetings.
Monitor and develop team performance, providing supervision, professional development, counselling and evaluations, and recognition.
Create and maintain customer databases and collaborate with Sales and Marketing/Public Relations on marketing strategy.
Maximize efficiency of technology systems (e.g., OpenTable).
Monitor service and satisfaction trends, address issues, and implement improvements.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol standards.
Initiate up-selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services, including menu development and cross-selling opportunities hotel-wide.
Recruit, interview and train team members.
Qualifications The ideal candidate is an exceptional leader with a passion for creating extraordinary experiences, strong training and development skills, and experience in all aspects of restaurant operations (financial performance, social media reputation, local market capture, and employee relations). Requirements include:
At least 3 years of restaurant management experience in an upscale dining environment.
Strong beverage knowledge.
Experience managing a unionized work environment is preferred.

Pay Rate:
The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
