Position Summary
POSITION SUMMARY

As Sr. Manager of Cross-SBU Insights, you will leverage various types and sources of customer and business insights, as well as advanced analytics, to inform Walmart’s strategies and campaigns across multiple business units. You’ll drive both long-term vision and short-term initiatives, ensuring actionable insights at critical moments for our customers and business.
Core Responsibilities
Insights Leadership:
Develop comprehensive learning plans based on desired business objectives. Lead qualitative and quantitative research on shopping behaviors, industry trends, and customer needs, across categories. Utilize a variety of data sources to uncover meaningful insights.
Consultative Partnership:
Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Product teams, providing research-backed recommendations to influence cross-SBU strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Lead and participate in cross-functional projects, building strong relationships across the organization and with external partners to ensure alignment on insights and recommendations.
Storytelling & Communication:
Present complex research findings clearly and persuasively, using storytelling to convey synthesized insights to senior leadership and non-technical audiences.
Strategic Perspective:
Make omni-channel recommendations with a customer-centric and holistic business approach across business units.
Continuous Improvement:
Foster a culture of curiosity, learning, and innovation to enhance the quality and impact of cross-SBU insights.
Talent & Team Development:
Mentor associates, build a collaborative team, and uphold Walmart’s values of belonging.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of 4 years of experience in marketing research, data analytics, consulting, or related field.
Experience managing third-party research vendors.
Experience in consulting/communicating to executive leaders (SVP/EVP).
Strong background in primary research, with experience in research methods, databases, and data visualization tools, ideally within a multi-business unit or retail context.
Proven ability to lead complex consulting projects, preferably in large-scale or cross-functional contexts.
Excellent communication, storytelling, and organizational skills.
Experience working cross-functionally, influencing senior leadership, and managing multiple projects.
