We are looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead our safety initiatives and ensure a safe, compliant, and healthy work environment. This role is critical to maintaining our commitment to employee well-being and regulatory excellence. You will oversee all aspects of safety—from OSHA compliance and training to incident investigation and budget management. This role will have direct reports and is hands-on on the plant floor.
Responsibilities
Lead Safety Programs: Develop, implement, and continuously improve regulatory and company safety programs (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI).
Policy Management: Create, review, and enforce plant safety policies and procedures.
Training Oversight: Assign, track, and report on all regulatory and safety training across the facility.
Workers Compensation: Manage cases including doctor visits, light duty assignments, reporting, and financial forecasting.
Hazard Identification: Train employees, conduct audits, develop corrective actions, and monitor progress.
Budget Control: Oversee the health & safety budget including PPE, supplies, and first aid resources.
Reporting: Prepare and present weekly/monthly safety performance reports.
Incident Response: Serve as Medical First Responder and lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and case management.
Change Management: Conduct safety reviews for Management of Change processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA standards, and Workers Compensation laws.
Proven experience in hazard recognition, incident investigation, and case management.
Certified in First Aid, AED, and CPR.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with plant leadership.
Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10 days/year).
Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to drive Health & Safety programs.
Collaborative with Environmental Manager and Facility Nurse to drive safety culture; hands-on presence on the plant floor.
