Responsibilities Supervise, coach, mentor, build up, and efficiently lead the Sales & Marketing Department in North America. This includes existing plants in Mexico, the USA and Canada, the regional US headquarters, and future plants for all non-German OEMs. Staff includes Key Account Managers, Business Development Managers and Sales & Marketing Assistants. Manage the department to optimize sales strategy, obtain RFIs and RFQs early, secure customer POs on time, ensure on-time payments, and manage price adjustments to minimize past-due receivables. Ensure compliance of internal business processes and align strategic and operational directions with present and future customer needs.

In close cooperation with the President and parent companies, create, maintain, develop and enforce the sales strategy, processes and reporting structure, sales roadmap, marketing data, competitive data, prioritized targets, customer relationship action plans and progress tracking. Win and maintain profitable business per the defined roadmap. Develop a robust customer portfolio including but not limited to Chrysler, Ford and Nissan. Build durable, long-term relationships with all customer departments (engineering, purchasing, production, management and executive levels). Maintain a highly professional representation of our offerings with existing and potential customers and within the industry. Develop creative win-win solutions with parent companies and OEMs to address productivity needs, savings opportunities, and customer requests (e.g., LTA’s).

Organize, prepare and deliver strategic, commercial and technical presentations at OEMs; provide timely technical answers.

Prepare and obtain timely answers to OEM questions and concerns; develop alternative cost models and systematic P&L scenarios for each project/plant prior to quoting.

Develop quote packages aligned with past quotes and successful wins; include specifications, warranty assumptions, productivity, material identification and weights, commercial terms and detailed technical concepts.

Negotiate quotes with OEMs using financial and technical arguments; continuously seek cost reductions and quote improvements.

Support program management in quoting running changes and negotiating changes with OEMs; organize and run negotiations on terms, warranty, liability, service parts, and quality agreements.

Facilitate program management, customer relations, smooth production launches, and achievement of financial and strategic targets.

Obtain, verify, filter and maintain up-to-date documentation on future programs, localization, product strategy, future technologies, trends and competitors’ positions; proactively obtain intelligence from suppliers, OEMs, agencies and parent companies and share non-proprietary information with relevant stakeholders.

Organize plant and facility visits for OEMs; coordinate Tech Days and events aligned with marketing strategies.

Support quality and environmental initiatives; prepare reports for government and statistical agencies.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent; enhanced professional training in sales is preferred.

Spanish (Preferred) and German (Preferred).

Minimum 15 years of sales experience, with 10+ years in the automotive industry; at least 10 years in a senior leadership role with personnel supervision; at least 5 years in production and/or international environments with hands-on production experience.

Proven track record in business development.

Very organized with strong analytical skills; in-depth knowledge of OEM organizations and sourcing processes (including Chrysler, Ford, Nissan).

Strong portfolio of contacts with American OEMs, including top-management, purchasing and technical organizations; experience with Chrysler, Ford and GM.

Proven problem-solving skills and entrepreneurial drive to create, implement and continuously improve cross-functional processes across sites.

High motivation to drive steady business growth; experience in a multi-cultural environment is advantageous.

Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements.

IT Knowledge: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Market/Customer Databases; OEM-specific web applications.

Methodology: presentation skills, project management experience, clear communicator with organized prioritization.

Personal: committed team player with motivational drive, flexible and dynamic approach; proven leadership skills.
