Software Development Senior Manager (Vice President) - Full Stack - Hybrid
This senior-level position drives the development of high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, implementation, and rigorous testing based on user requirements. The role focuses on Java and its ecosystems, with hands-on experience architecting and delivering robust, scalable applications, and joining a software team dedicated to mission-critical projects.
The Software Development Senior Manager translates user requirements into technical specifications and leads a development team through designing, implementing, and delivering Java/Python applications, from concept and detailed design to comprehensive testing. The role collaborates with business users to design and implement current and target state business processes using advanced tools and technologies.
Responsibilities
Partner with multiple management teams to integrate functions to meet goals and identify system enhancements for new products and process improvements.
Resolve high-impact problems through evaluation of complex business and system processes and industry standards.
Provide expertise in applications programming and ensure design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
Use advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
Develop knowledge of how areas such as architecture and infrastructure integrate to accomplish business goals.
Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
Assess risk when business decisions are made, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, policy, and ethical standards, and escalate/report control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
6+ years of industry experience with hands-on development of mission-critical applications using Java technologies, aligning projects with strategic objectives and overseeing team operations.
Experience with complex system integration projects.
Hands-on experience in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, J2EE Design Patterns, and REST services.
Front-end technologies: JavaScript, Angular, HTML, CSS.
Strong knowledge of SQL, JDBC, and Unix commands.
Hands-on database experience with relational (Oracle/DB2) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
Hands-on experience deploying applications on Cloud environments.
Experience with code testing tools like JUnit, Mockito, and Cucumber.
Deployment familiarity with Apache Tomcat, OpenShift, or other cloud environments is an advantage.
Expertise in Test Driven Development (JUnit, JMeter), Continuous Integration (Jenkins), Build tools (Maven), and Version Control (Git); development tools (Eclipse, IntelliJ).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently.
Experience working with business analysts, DBAs, PMs, and architects in multiple geographical areas.
Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus; understanding financial and reporting hierarchies is beneficial.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Master’s degree preferred
