The Certification Test Engineer is responsible for developing and executing test lab planning, schedules, setup and conducting developmental and certification testing for Seats and Furniture. Test types include, but are not limited to, component, static, dynamic, abuse, cycle and flammability. Responsibilities
Set-up, conduct and monitor dynamic, static and abuse/cycle testing, including data acquisition systems Maintain test equipment and fixtures in good working order including calibrations, spare parts, procurement, maintenance etc. Read and understand test plans Read and interpret technical drawings Review test matrix and design test setups Design and build/oversee build test fixtures/platforms Create and maintain internal test facility manual, procedures, work instructions, etc. Maintain internal testing schedule Coordinate with engineers and other departments Keep up to date with the latest industry testing methodologies and testing equipment Monitor and document test results Review and write test reports May oversee test technicians Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline is required Level III: 7+ years of experience Proficient with Microsoft Office Electro/mechanical background Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team Mechanically inclined (familiar with shop tools) Fluent in English (written, oral and presentation) Good organization and time-management skills Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Preferred: Portable CMM experience (such as FARO or ROMER arm) Knowledge of FAA/EASA requirements Script/Code writing CAD experience Must be able to carry 40 lbs Extended or irregular hours may be required Must be authorized to work in the United States Supervision & Leadership
Level III: Direction is provided in terms of tasks and objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion on how well objectives have been met. Will work autonomously with only occasional status updates with supervisor Level II / III: May oversee the work of others. Assist in the training and coaching of other team members Compensation & Benefits
