The P PD PROJECT MANAGEMENT Department of the P OPERATIONS PLANNING & CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has one management vacancy available. This posting seeks to fill at either the Project Manager or Sr Project Manager; whichever level is most suited to the qualifications of the applying candidate. Project Manager Job Function: Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing scope, schedule, and costs for Energy Delivery projects and programs requiring complex regulatory approvals, land/Right-of-Way acquisition, public relations management, or cross-functional/multilevel (internal) management from conceptualization/inception through budgeting, design, approval, procurement, construction, placement in operation, and project closing. Serves as a focal point for all project/program matters and is responsible for meeting all project-related objectives. Essential Functions: Plans, organizes, and manages all project/program tasks associated with scoping, budgeting, design, approval, procurement, construction, placement in operation, and closing of projects. Serves as the focal point for all programs/projects related matters. Develops necessary strategies required to meet program/project goals. Works with Regulatory Affairs, Budgets, Management Accounting & Financial Services, Community Relations, Government Relations, Corporate Communications, Legal, Energy Delivery departments, and others in obtaining approvals. Basic Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of project management principles, and engineering and construction practices in the transmission and distribution and/or generation fields. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from a nationally recognized organization such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), a plus. Working knowledge of personal computers and related software applications. Knowledge of LEAN continuous improvement principles and best practices to achieve operational excellence. Knowledge of basic Safety principles and best practices to achieve a safe workplace environment. Several (3-5 years) experience as a project manager, construction manager, designer, engineer, or in a project support position that involved hands on experience with small to medium scale projects, preferably within the electric utility industry. Sr Project Manager Job Function: Plans, organizes, and manages scope, schedule, and costs of major Energy Delivery capital projects and programs requiring complex regulatory approvals, land/Right-of-Way acquisition, public relations management, or cross-functional/multi-level (internal) management from conceptualization/inception through budgeting, design, approval, procurement, construction, placement in operation, and project closing. Essential Functions: Plans, organizes, and manages all project and/or program tasks associated with scoping, budgeting, design, approval, procurement, construction, placement in operation, and closing of projects. Develops necessary strategies required to meet project and/or program goals. Serves as the focal point for all project and/or program related matters. Develops and maintains project and/or program schedules. Basic Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of project management principles, and engineering and construction practices in the transmission, distribution, substation, and/or generation fields. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from a nationally recognized organization such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), is required. Licensed Professional Engineer in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical branch or certified as a Planner by a nationally recognized professional society such as the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is required. Several (3-5) years of leadership experience is desirable. Extensive (8+ years) experience as a project manager, construction manager, designer, or engineer, with large complex projects, preferably within the electric utility industry. Location: Honolulu Oahu Hiring Range: The hiring range for the Project Manager position is $97,900.00 to $125,000.00. The hiring range for the Sr. Project Manager position is $107,700.00 to $139,800.00.
