Front-End Clerk

position offers the opportunity to provide superior customer service through responding to inquiries, supporting shoppers, promoting our loyalty program, processing sales and returns, and resolving complaints. Success in this role requires a caring individual committed to making each customer's experience positive. Arrive on time and leave as scheduled unless directed otherwise. Work overtime as needed. Dress according to company policy, including uniform, name badge, and hat or apron. Follow all company policies, safety, security, and health regulations. Provide the best customer service possible. Avoid gum and mobile device use while in check lanes. Greet all customers within 10 feet and offer prompt, courteous assistance. Be attentive, making eye contact and listening to customer needs. Follow the 'three-deep' rule; call for backup when lines exceed two customers. Ask customers if they need anything else during checkout. Prioritize customer needs and support the store's service goals. Stand at the register for the duration of your shift. Operate the cash register and handle cash accurately. Recognize various produce types and differentiate between similar products. Lift, pull, push, and rotate merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs. Check prices and locate items efficiently. Scan products accurately and process transactions error-free. Promote charitable promotions to customers. Handle all forms of payment per company guidelines. Provide correct change and handle damaged or returned products properly. Bag orders safely and efficiently, segregating items as needed. Follow shrink guidelines and maintain logs for scanned/mis-priced items. Remain alert for suspicious activity. Adhere to safety policies and report equipment issues. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe. Attend scheduled meetings and participate in training. Mentor new cashiers as directed. Maintain professional behavior and complete tasks ethically and promptly. Collaborate with team members and stay productive during idle times. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors. Physical and General Requirements: Ability to interact positively with customers and staff. Strong people skills for a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving skills under stress, with limited standards. Availability for early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly, 50 lbs occasionally. Proficiency in English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension. Good hearing and verbal communication skills. Visual acuity for pricing and scanning tasks. Basic math skills for transactions and balancing cash. Ability to work with various products and tolerate dust and cleaning agents. Capability to work in different temperatures when needed.
