About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join its executive leadership team. The CMO will be a key leader in clinical initiatives, with a focus on improving quality, safety, and patient and physician satisfaction, while also managing costs and enhancing care coordination. This role requires a physician executive with a strong background in quality and safety, and a proven track record in physician leadership, particularly in an acute care setting. The CMO will be responsible for a wide range of areas, including physician relations, medical staff communications, and ensuring clinical input into strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10-15 years of experience as a clinical physician, with at least 7 years in a leadership role, and must be a Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Candidates for the CMO position at the company should be inspiring leaders with the ability to drive clinical quality and build a strong, results-oriented management team. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to establish credibility, and a management philosophy that values integrity and respect are essential. The CMO will also be expected to have a background in statistical analysis, clinical epidemiology, and best practices, and to be adept at using data to create accountability structures. A certification as a Physician Executive (CPE) or other advanced physician leadership certification is preferred.
