Job Title: Interventional Radiology Tech Profession: Allied Specialty: Interventional Radiology Tech Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 8-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 1 year (post-graduation and/or minimum 1-year on-the-job experience) required. License: BLS, ARRT(R) minimum. Prefer VI or CVRCIS with vascular rotations/experience acceptable. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: - Highly proficient in the use of a Siemens Hybrid Artis Pheno Fluoroscopy unit. - Ability to operate the unit with no training provided. - Experience with IR/Vascular procedures and willingness to work in the OR. - Ability to scrub and assist in procedures, circulate, operate equipment, and provide needed supplies. - Strong angiography skills and experience. - Knowledgeable about equipment and supplies. - Ability to troubleshoot minor issues in the room. Description: 1 Medical Center with 885 licensed beds and Level 1 Trauma Designation. Teaching hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. One designated room with two possible float rooms available. Average of five patients/cases per day in Interventional Radiology. Patient types and common diagnoses include comprehensive stroke care, cancer, tumors, and occlusions. Procedures include angiography, aneurysm repair, peripheral vascular interventions, bypasses, and endarterectomies. Tech extenders are available to assist, and there are two techs per room. Department includes four neuro providers, including neuro radiologists and surgeons. Technology used includes Siemens ARTIS Q, Siemens Hybrid Artis Pheno, and GE Ultrasound. Traveler may cover other rooms depending on case load. Scheduling includes every fourth weekend on call and two days of call required per week. Call begins at 1700 on weekdays and 0700 on weekends. Holiday work is required if scheduled. Shift times may vary between five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts based on department needs. Department culture is teamwork-oriented and fast-paced.
