Job Title: Interventional Radiology Tech Profession: Allied Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 2 years specific to Interventional Radiology/Neuro Interventional Radiology and at a Level 1 Trauma facility License: BLS; ARRT-R or RCIS Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Knowledge of scrubbing and assisting in procedures - Ability to circulate/operate on the back end for the procedures - Familiarity with equipment Description: The Interventional Radiology Tech will support a department with 10 rooms specific to Interventional Radiology. The average patient load is approximately 46-50 cases per day. Patient types include those with strokes, cancer, tumors, and blocked vessels. Complex neuro cases, such as ruptures and subdural fistulas, are also common. The body cases involve complex bleeds and interventions for oncology services, including abscess drains. The department features a supportive structure with tech extenders, neuro providers, and multiple body specialists on staff. Technology utilized includes Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging systems, as well as GE ultrasound units.
