Job Title: Interventional Radiology Tech Profession: Allied Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 2 years specific to Interventional Radiology/Neuro Interventional Radiology at a Level 1 Trauma facility License: BLS; ARRT-R or RCIS Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Scrubbing and assisting in procedures. - Ability to circulate/operate on the back end for procedures (2 techs per case). - Knowledgeable about equipment. Description: The facility has 10 rooms dedicated to Interventional Radiology. They handle an average of 46-50 cases per day. The facility functions as an Interventional Radiology Comprehensive Stroke Center. Common patient diagnoses include Stroke, Cancer, Tumors, and blocked vessels such as Peripheral, Carotid, IVC, and SVC. Neuro procedures involve Stroke interventions, Ruptures, Subdural fistulas, and complex Neuro cases. The Body department handles complex bleeds and interventions for Oncology services like liver cancer and abscess drains. There are currently 3 tech extenders who assist with transport and inventory within the department. Scheduling cycles occur every 8 weeks. The department promotes a supportive culture for new graduates, including preceptorship if needed. Scrub color is provided by the facility. The department utilizes EMR: EPIC and operates with Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging systems along with GE ultrasound units.
