Overview
Job Title: Production Supervisor
The production supervisor will oversee 5-7 production operators in a manufacturing and distribution facility. This role involves monitoring production rates, materials, run rates, and ensuring that a quality product is manufactured while operators stay on task. The supervisor will use Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and communicate with other departments and managers on production line results and irregularities. Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist with teaching Standard Operating Procedures/Conditions.
- Clean, set up, operate, and monitor equipment of the production line.
- Perform cleanings during set down times and product changeovers.
- Load/unload stacks and move items as assigned.
- Sort, bundle, and fill containers or assemble units.
- Mark or label product loads, ensuring proper coding of finished products.
- Record stock movement in and out of work areas.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
- Monitor materials, products, and equipment, reporting irregularities.
- Maintain communication with other departments and notify of issues.
- Ensure all paperwork is clear, legible, and accurate.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes using a continuous improvement mindset.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all required work safe practices.
- Report any food safety and food quality issues to management immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required by the department manager.
- Maintain a calm and collected mindset.
- Follow the chain of command, unless in case of emergency.
- Communicate exceptionally well with other shift supervisors, managers, and operators.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of manufacturing supervision experience
- Experience in Food Grade Production
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel for scheduling and reporting
- Strong communication skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in automotive/food manufacturing supervision
- Technical degree or schooling
- Knowledge of SOPs and GMPs

Work Environment
The facility is a food grade facility and distribution center servicing the entire state of Michigan, also producing ice cream. It is one of the top-performing plants in the country, highly automated with conveyors, palletizers, packaging equipment, large mixing silos, gauges, condensers, and other beverage production equipment. Schedule follows the Dupont model with alternating 3 & 4 day weeks, and alternating 36 & 48 hour weeks.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Battle Creek, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00/yr.
