JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Weekend Shift Group Manager to join our growing team. Hours will be 6:30am-7pm, Friday – Sunday.

The Opportunity

As a Group Manager, you will be responsible for managing and implementing all production operations and shop activities. Working closely with the Plant and Production Managers, this position is a key driver of JELD-WEN’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including SQDCI, TPS, OTD, and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, supporting our Mission Statement.

What You Will Do

  1. Manage and implement shop floor activities under the direction of the Production Manager, following established procedures and processes.
  2. Provide leadership to Lead employees and their subordinates in production areas to support plant operations and goals.
  3. Act as a liaison between upper management and hourly employees, providing timely feedback.
  4. Supervise all production and support operations, driving SQDCI, TPS, OTD, and CI activities.
  5. Develop and manage team performance based on KPIs.
  6. Ensure operations, equipment, facilities, and personnel meet production goals and objectives.
  7. Assist in establishing and monitoring plant performance standards for production and quality control.
  8. Maintain and recommend improvements to plant facilities and equipment.
  9. Provide leadership and training to meet plant and company goals.
  10. Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
  11. Assist in safety programs, communicate safety issues, and participate in investigations.
  12. Participate in staff performance evaluations and proactive personnel management.
  13. Perform other duties as directed by supervisory personnel.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree in a related field and 1-3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the window and door industry, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of applicable work experience.
  • Knowledge of raw materials for door and window applications.
  • Experience with production and process improvement methodologies like SQDCI, OTD, TPS, and CI.
  • Leadership, interpersonal, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coach, develop, motivate, and resolve conflicts within teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of JELD-WEN’s mission, goals, and KPIs.
  • Knowledge of production machinery and tools.
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
  • Willingness to travel locally for training and seminars.
