PACU RN Job Details – Flagstaff, AZ

  • Location: Flagstaff, Arizona 86001
  • Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Contract)
  • Healthcare Setting: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
  • Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Shifts: Night shifts: 4x10-hour (20:00–06:00), 3x10-hour (18:00–04:00), or 3x12-hour (19:00–07:00)
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1850 - $1890
  • Patient Population: All ages – pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric
  • Unit Details: 6 preop bays, 8 PACU bays, 4 Phase II bays
  • Charting System: Cerner
  • Parking: Free
  • Scrubs: Provided

PACU RN Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent PACU RN experience in Trauma Level I or II hospital settings
  • Active, unrestricted Arizona RN license or valid compact nursing license (pending accepted)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • CPAN certification preferred
  • Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred
  • Skilled in caring for infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
  • Ability to float to TASC (Ambulatory Surgical Center) within hospital
  • Weekend shifts as needed
  • First-time travel nurses welcome

PACU RN Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care for surgical patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Monitor and manage ventilated patients; recognize and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Provide care in Phase I and Phase II PACU environments
  • Float to Ambulatory Surgical Center (TASC) as required
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services
  • Maintain hospital quality and patient safety standards, including medication administration protocols
  • Accurately document patient care in Cerner EMR system
  • Support a diverse patient population with compassionate, patient-centered care
