Responsibilities

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac-related procedures and examinations
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
• Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of status and response to interventions
• Responds to life-saving situations according to nursing standards, policies, and protocols for cardiac emergencies
• Documents nursing history and physical assessments for assigned telemetry patients
• Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintains patient and client confidentiality
• Performs other duties within the scope of practice
• Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Telemetry RN
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
• NIHSS certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Essential Work Functions

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed for cardiac care
• Prepares equipment and assists with cardiac procedures
• Ensures patient comfort and safety
• Documents nursing history and assessments; communicates patient status to the team
• Responds to emergencies in accordance with protocols
• Provides patient education on cardiac health and risk factors
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team
• Maintains confidentiality
• Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice
• Follows safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
