The Role Sr. Product Marketing Manager
at Proofpoint. We are looking for a strong, talented, results-driven professional to join the Email Security Product Marketing team. The role drives the go-to-market strategy for the Proofpoint Threat Protection solution and serves as the expert on buyers, competitors, and market opportunities. You will partner with product management, marketing, and sales to build and execute go-to-market plans and create high-impact assets to drive business growth.
The ideal candidate is a driven self-starter, a diplomatic collaborator, and a strategic thinker who is willing to roll up their sleeves and exercise sound judgement.
Your Day-to-Day
Positioning and Messaging: Be the expert on our buyers – who they are, how they buy, and their buying criteria. Craft clear messaging positioned against market and competitive trends, emphasizing differentiators and business value to resonate with target audiences.
Content Creation: Create compelling messaging and content (e.g., webinars, blogs, solution briefs, datasheets, presentations) that highlight differentiated business value.
Presentation and Thought Leadership: Present content to internal and external audiences, including sales training, customer briefings, webinars, industry events, and analyst briefings. Act as the primary thought leader for the solutions you support.
Domain Expertise: Establish yourself as a thought leader in the dynamic email security market. Research market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape; translate into actionable insights for sales, customer success, marketing, and product management.
Launch Execution: Lead cross-functional teams in planning, execution, and launches of new capabilities and updates to generate sales and market awareness.
Sales Enablement: Create and deliver enablement content and tools to help sellers identify opportunities and communicate value.
Dynamic Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with product management, corporate marketing, competitive intelligence, and sales to ensure alignment on release benefits.
Customer Advocacy: Identify and leverage customer success stories and testimonials to strengthen messaging and demonstrate impact.
What You Bring To The Team
8+ years of experience in product marketing. Email security, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT experience strongly preferred.
BS/BA required; MBA a plus.
Proven experience marketing to enterprise businesses and technical buyers; ability to converse across technical and sales audiences with concise messaging.
Demonstrated ability to craft engaging, clear content; strong research, writing, and editing skills aligned with messaging guidelines.
Passion for knowing the market and translating that expertise into actionable go-to-market plans.
Analytical mindset with the ability to execute tactically, work independently, and manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills to lead and inspire diverse teams.
Ability to articulate unique value propositions at both product and solution levels.
Strong storyteller with excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to internal and external audiences.
High energy and enthusiasm with potential to influence other teams.
Willingness to travel to events and meetings (expected travel 10-15%), including international locations.
This role can be in a Proofpoint office, hybrid, or remote.
