Position Summary
The Valuations Manager serves as the head subject matter expert for the Valuation Analyst team, specializing in Third-Party Appraisal Review, Internal Desktop Valuation, and Value Reconciliation across all loan files. This role requires advanced analytical skills, effective team leadership, and proactive communication to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of property valuations throughout Anchor Loans’ lending operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive analyses of third-party appraisal reports, ensuring they meet industry standards and accurately reflect property values. Address discrepancies in appraisal reports by coordinating with external appraisers to ensure clarity and compliance. Perform and oversee desktop valuations using company proprietary systems and additional data sites to develop accurate value opinions on various property types, including single-family residences, condominiums, and multi-family units. Review and analyze market data trends, property tax records, and other relevant data to support valuation accuracy. Review and analyze market data trends, property tax records, and other relevant data to support valuation accuracy. Act as a key liaison between the Valuations team and cross-functional partners including Credit, Underwriting, Risk, and Servicing. Support compliance and audit requests with documentation and subject matter expertise as needed. Provide expert guidance and mentorship to Valuation Analysts to enhance their skill sets and ensure high-quality work output. Manage the daily workflow and performance of the Valuation Analyst team, including workload balancing, quality control, and timely issue resolution. Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support career development plans for team members. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training of new analysts as needed. Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred 5+ years of experience in appraisal or a related field, with significant emphasis on desk-based analysis and team leadership Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of real estate valuations Proven leadership and team management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to utilize proprietary valuation systems Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with professionalism and integrity with all levels of team members and management Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position which requires in office reporting to Anchor’s main headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA for a minimum 3 days/week, ability to work remotely two days/week.
Compensation
The base pay for this position is $100,000 - $115,000 per year, plus annual discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance.
