The Valuation Analyst plays a critical role in the Valuations Department, specializing in 3rd Party Appraisal Review, Internal Desktop Valuation, and Value Reconciliation for all loan files. This position requires a combination of detailed analytical work and proactive communication to ensure the accuracy and compliance of property valuations across our lending operations. Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth analyses of third-party appraisal reports to ensure they meet industry standards and accurately reflect property values. Address discrepancies in appraisal reports by liaising with external appraisers to ensure clarity and compliance. Perform desktop valuations using company systems and data sources to develop accurate value opinions on property types including single-family residences, condominiums, and multi-family units. Review market data, trends, property tax records, and other relevant data to support valuation accuracy. Reconcile differences between valuation methods and reports, synthesizing evaluations to aid the underwriting team. Ensure valuation reports are objective, follow industry best practices, and provide detailed recommendations when needed. Communicate regularly with processing and underwriting teams to address valuation red flags or concerns. Engage with local real estate agents to obtain up-to-date market-specific data and insights to enhance valuation quality. Prepare detailed valuation reports and recommendations, maintaining thorough documentation. Manage valuation-related deadlines and provide timely, reviewed value opinions to support fast-paced decision-making within the department. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, economics, or a related field, or relevant appraisal/valuation experience. 3–5 years of experience in appraisal or a related field with emphasis on desk-based analysis. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of real estate valuations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to use proprietary valuation systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication skills with professionalism and integrity across all levels of the organization. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring in-office reporting to Anchor’s Thousand Oaks office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Remote work is optional Monday and Friday. Fully remote opportunities are available but must reside in California. Compensation
The base pay range for this position is $28–$36/hour, plus an annual discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance. What We Offer
