Overview

Senior Architect - Commercial at Hoefer Welker. 10+ years of experience required. Responsible for efficiently and effectively managing, designing and delivering successful building projects through a pro-active delivery process, whether with in-house staff or outside AEC team members, in accordance with office standards and processes. Responsibilities include involvement from schematic design through construction, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, coordinating consultants in all phases, and directing the production of the projects. Responsibilities

Work closely with the Project Manager to execute project plans. Support, direct, and mentor staff within a team-building atmosphere to collaborate effectively for the benefit of the company, client, and project. Collaboratively work with consultants, contractors, and owners in a pro-active integrated project delivery process throughout all project phases (design, construction, post-occupancy) to achieve client, project, and internal goals. Focus on client satisfaction and identify opportunities to provide additional future project-related services. Coordinate and monitor the activities of project personnel, ensuring individual assignments support project requirements. Maintain awareness of scope, schedule, budget, and status of all assigned projects. Develop and maintain client confidence through professionalism, accountability, and performance. Conduct architectural studies, develop design concepts and criteria, and prepare reports, calculations, and detailed design and construction documents. Assist in developing statements of probable cost and participate in presenting plans to governing and permitting authorities for land use, zoning, and permit approvals. Oversee inspection of construction projects to ensure adherence to plans and specifications; advise contractors on interpretation of plans and specs. Prepare materials, write construction specifications, and produce detailed construction documents. Ensure quality assurance is initiated and maintained throughout the life of the project. Serve as a subject matter expert on specialized systems and liaise with project management, architects, and consultants. Develop and represent lead technical viewpoints on projects. Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent in education or experience. 10+ years of experience in architectural practice as a project architect on technical projects is required. Certification/Registration

Architectural registration required with current license. NCARB registration desired and LEED Green Associate Accreditation desired. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and willingness to use an insured personal vehicle in the course of employment. Qualifications

Candidate must be proficient in Revit, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office. Deltek Vantagepoint and TonicDM knowledge is preferred. Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, and meet deadlines. Detailed orientation and ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Great leadership, decision-making, delegation, and mentoring skills. Ability to provide high-quality, responsive design solutions and documentation for construction in various styles with exceptional client service. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and drive to meet project design and performance goals. Ability to work independently as well as with various disciplines and people; committed to being an effective team player.
