We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with design-build and infrastructure experience to join our growing team. Ideal candidates are independent thinkers, self-motivated, proactive communicators, and collaborators across disciplines throughout the design process. Principal Areas of Responsibility
Lead in the development of technical documentation, specifications, drawings, requisitions, proposals, and presentations to federal clients. Perform project and construction administration as either project manager or structural lead. Project management includes labor estimates, communications, budget monitoring, organizing deliverables, and setting project standards for delivery. Engineering responsibilities cover project engineering from concept and schematic design through construction documents to construction and commissioning. Evaluate the work of technical staff and provide feedback based on client needs. Approve discipline and layout design criteria documents. Assist the Marketing Team with solicitations. Support Business Development, including write-ups of key project aspects and preparing fee estimates and assumptions for a discipline on potential projects. Foster a commitment to external and internal client service. Research information to assist designers in material, product, and equipment selection and specification. Review contract solicitation documents. Oversee and/or conduct existing condition surveys of structural systems to determine engineering strategies for renovation and to document and evaluate existing systems. Perform structural assessments of existing buildings based on historical documents. Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (required). 12+ years of relevant experience. Licensed PE required; SE preferred. NCEES record to obtain PE in other states. Familiarity with Whole Building Design Guide, UFC, and UFGS strongly preferred. Proficient with building and design codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.). Past DOD and federal work with experience in Blast Design and Progressive Collapse desired. Experience with the Design-Build project approach preferred. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required. Ability to perform advanced structural analysis modeling on finite element programs. Experience with structural systems including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, cold-formed, PEMB; and general construction practices. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively on multiple projects. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, client-focused, and a positive team player. Ability to travel (including abroad) for projects. U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance. Excellent safety awareness. Salary Range
This position has an annual range of $122,200.00 to $139,500.00. Actual compensation is based on factors including skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and work location. What We Offer
