Overview

Job Title: Assistant Manager (Sally Beauty) Location: Phoenix, AZ (postings may reference multiple locations). Employment type: Full-time. Essential Function: Store Managers are responsible for hiring, developing and leading all store associates while ensuring optimal customer experiences, effectively overseeing all store operations, and maintaining brand standards. Assistant Managers, as part of their development, support the Store Manager in all areas outlined below and are responsible for all Primary Duties when the Store Manager is not present. Primary Duties Brand (30%): Provides supervision and supports the direction & planning of associates’ daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional client experience which maximizes sales/KPIs and drives customer loyalty. Ensures all brand standards are met (merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc.). Acts as main point of contact to resolve customer issues and concerns. Analyzes store trends and can anticipate customer demands.

People (30%): Engages, trains and develops teams to achieve positive results. Recruits to build a network of candidates and addresses performance through coaching or counseling. Maintains positive associate relations, communicates Company information, and fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging. Builds relationships with Store Manager peers and maintains communication with AM/DM.

Operations (30%): Ensures execution of company processes through training, management, analysis and continuous improvement. Utilizes digital strategies such as Omni-channel fulfillment (SFS/SDD/BOPIS). Manages inventory, payroll hours, scheduling, store opening/closing procedures, and follows Company directives and projects.

Safety/Loss Prevention (10%): Maintains a safe store environment, enforces policies, protects assets, and analyzes reporting/tools/technology. Ensures compliance with training and execution of safety protocols.

Knowledge, Skills/Abilities And Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent

Must be 18 years of age or older

Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred

At least 1+ year(s) prior management experience preferred

Ability to lead or support a team to meet business objectives

Effective communication with team and management

Must have scheduling availability to meet business needs

Cosmetology license desirable, but not required

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

The position may require long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, reaching, and lifting moderately heavy items (e.g., shipments). May require working in multiple store locations. The environment involves common safety precautions in retail settings; appropriate lighting, heating and ventilation are provided.
