National Sales Director – Digital Retail

We are looking for a seasoned Director of National Digital Retail Sales to develop, orchestrate and deliver go-to-market program strategies to increase the adoption of Market Scan products in the US automotive industry. This highly visible role will work with the executive teams of S&P Global Mobility and Market Scan to build Digital Retail partnerships, strengthen our value proposition, create broader market awareness, provide a critical voice into our robust product roadmap, and generate new business opportunities. Responsibilities
S&P Global Mobility is looking for an experienced sales manager and business development leader to contribute to the revenue, margins, growth, and retention of the Digital Retail business. Full relationship management responsibility for designated companies assigned by headquarters, including automotive OEMs, automotive digital retail start-ups to fully operational ones, dealership management systems providers, customer management system companies, automotive dealership groups, and major online retailers. Understand the Digital Retail business, goals, strategies, industry trends, direction, and how they map to S&P Global Mobility & Market Scan products and solutions. Define overall strategy, collaborate on marketing integrations, and demonstrate the value of the Market Scan Sales and Marketing platform. Develop and maintain an established network of C-Suite and Digital Retail senior leader relationships and cultivate a growing network of new contacts. Sales Requirements
Deliver revenue objectives associated with Market Scan sales and retention. Promote Market Scan and S&P Global Mobility adoption with Digital Retail accounts. Demonstrate product technology expertise with the ability to demo Market Scan products for prospective clients. Oversee product and technical integration after the sale and oversee process integration after the sale. Support dealer roll-out and product pilot phases by working with partners on scope, requirements, and launch. Daily management of terms and conditions of contracts. Develop and maintain account plans for assigned accounts and track business management statistics and KPIs. Embrace autonomy and accountability; cultivate strategic selling processes; manage multiple relationships and revenue goals; and engage with senior leadership as needed. Strategy Requirements
Develop and execute strategic business plans based on Company objectives. Understand internal and external market dynamics affecting each prospect/client account; assess opportunities to support new product development by providing customer feedback. Keep current with product, industry, and competitive knowledge; articulate the S&P Global Mobility and Market Scan value proposition. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or higher in sales, marketing, or business; at least 10 years of B2B direct selling, account management, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 10 years of automotive digital retail or related experience. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including nationwide travel. Extensive and progressive experience in software sales or automotive. Proven track record; strong business acumen and problem-solving skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple relationships, strong time management, organizational skills, and accountability for engagement and revenue goals. Ability to cultivate C-suite relationships; excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and in a team; capable of operating in a less structured environment and managing day-to-day activities. Results-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of procuring and executing complex sales strategies; leadership in go-to-market initiatives and partner collaboration. This role requires up to 50% travel nationally as needed. Candidate can live and work remotely and must be able to travel to our Detroit, MI office and prospect/client account locations to support sales and marketing initiatives regularly. Candidates should also expect to attend NADA annual meetings, Digital Retail-specific, and automotive-related conferences and events as needed. About S&P Global Mobility
