Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system; ensure correct changes, proper bagging, receipts, and top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop\’s guest benefits, including new title reservations, trade-in programs, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty programs. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in policies and procedures. Monitor associate performance and provide timely feedback; address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; input written feedback into the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding and training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure familiarity with policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates to meet business needs; manage breaks and meals per guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain high levels of guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off and time edits, and verify compensation. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure equipment is in proper working order. Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety checks and address concerns with the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts and restock merchandise; move products from stock to sales floor and keep items organized. Balance and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and manage bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and report discrepancies to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety and report injuries per guidelines. Assist in maintaining neat store records and up-to-date manuals. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Work independently and as part of a team; meet performance expectations and maintain safety standards. Operate POS system and perform basic mathematics and alphabetizing tasks. Carry out instructions and complete required paperwork; adhere to company policies in all financial tasks. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week). Ability to work for extended periods, stand and move around the store; lift up to 30 lbs. Understanding of safety, loss prevention, and basic firearms-related clearance not required; see company policy for details.
