Overview
Computer Network Architect (Job ID: 3670) at Valkyrie Enterprises. Location: San Antonio-Lackland Airforce Base, TX, 78236. Base pay range: $40.00/hr - $50.00/hr. This position is contingent upon contract funding; actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Responsibilities
Planning and designing data communication networks Presenting network plans to management staff Provide design of network and prompt IT design, support, and assistance with day-to-day tasks to support the IT team and staff with security, design and documentation of the network Collaborate with management staff to determine networking needs Oversee the network implementation process, including setting schedules and budgets Manage information and network security Implement upgrades to hardware and software as needed Perform maintenance and repairs to network equipment Keep documentation of networks, including drawings, descriptions and configurations Research network technologies and stay up to date on advancements in the field Implement new server and network hardware and corresponding software solutions Ensure that all network systems are functioning and communicating properly (servers, firewalls, routers, switches, VPN devices, cabling, wireless routers, and related systems) Track end-of-life and specify replacements when needed Document existing systems and formulate comprehensive plans for implementing new systems Perform regular inventories of IT equipment and report discrepancies to Program Manager Provide assistance and guidance to IT Technicians as needed Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in Network Architecture and Design Advanced understanding of networking protocols and procedures Experience with tier 1 network hardware in a production environment Advanced understanding of Microsoft OS and applications, including server applications (e.g., Exchange) in a production environment Extensive experience with hardware/software troubleshooting and analysis Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Excellent people skills; strong communication and customer support experience Desired Qualifications
IAT Level III Networking certification is preferred Security Requirements
Must have TS/SCI security clearance Travel Requirements
Occasional travel less than 10% Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials (e.g., REAL ID) for travel to secure facilities by start of position Physical Requirements
