Position Summary
The Production Planning Coordinator plays a vital support role in Flexpak’s manufacturing and distribution operations. This position is responsible for assisting with daily production scheduling, maintaining accurate production logs, and supporting the Senior Production Coordinator with material ordering, project coordination, and workflow management. The Production Assistant ensures smooth communication between production, warehouse, and administrative teams, contributing to efficiency, accuracy, and on-time delivery of customer orders
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Senior Production Coordinator in preparing and updating the daily production schedule to meet customer deadlines and optimize workflow.
Maintain and update the production log, ensuring accurate documentation of job progress, materials used, and completion status.
Support in ordering and tracking raw materials and supplies, verifying deliveries, and maintaining adequate stock levels to prevent delays.
Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are staged and available for scheduled jobs.
Generate and distribute production reports for management, including daily, weekly, and monthly updates.
Assist with prioritizing and sequencing work orders based on deadlines, material availability, and labor resources.
Provide administrative support for production projects, including preparing documentation, maintaining ERP or tracking systems, and organizing files.
Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements to processes and documentation.
Step in to assist on the production floor with light material handling, labeling, or assembly tasks during peak demand periods.
Qualifications and Skills
1+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, or administrative support (packaging industry experience a plus).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Familiarity with ERP or production tracking systems is a plus.
Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across production, warehouse, and office teams.
Basic knowledge of materials management, scheduling, or inventory processes is desirable.

Office-based with regular visits to the production floor and warehouse.
Exposure to packaging materials, adhesives, foam dust, and equipment noise when on the floor.
PPE required in designated areas (e.g., gloves, safety glasses).
Frequent interaction with production staff, supervisors, and material handlers.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move between office and production areas throughout the day.
Regular use of hands for typing, filing, and light material handling.
Occasional lifting of packaging materials or completed products up to 25 lbs.
