A proud member of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, the hotel features elevated accommodations and an exciting culinary lineup, including Marcy Restaurant, Marcy Bar, and the seasonal rooftop venue Cloudsplitter. As a year-round destination, the property is ideally positioned to capture leisure, group, and tour & travel demand from across the Northeast and beyond. Position Summary
We are seeking a
strategic and hands-on Director of Sales
to lead the hotel’s commercial strategy and drive business across
group, leisure, and tour segments . This position plays a vital role in positioning the hotel within the destination market and converting demand into sustainable revenue. The ideal candidate brings experience in
resort/destination sales , understands the
tour & travel and group motorcoach markets , and thrives in
building partnerships that convert to bookings . This is a leadership-level position for someone who can work both
independently and collaboratively , with access to above-property sales and revenue support. Key Responsibilities
Lead sales efforts across group, corporate, government, and leisure segments, with a particular focus on tour operators and seasonal travel demand. Develop and execute a sales plan that includes motorcoach, travel wholesaler, and group tour strategies. Build local and regional partnerships with tourism boards, sports teams, associations, and event organizers. Represent the hotel at trade shows, FAM tours, and industry events. Revenue Management & Forecasting
Maintain and deliver accurate forecasts by segment and ensure alignment with revenue strategies. Collaborate closely with the Revenue Management team to identify need periods and adjust tactics accordingly. Monitor pacing and adjust group and transient strategy to maximize room and F&B revenue. Event & Catering Sales Support
Support food & beverage revenue through group events, meetings, and catering sales opportunities. Assist with the planning and execution of events, including pre-event coordination and client engagement. Participate in tastings, site visits, and proposal development. Team Leadership & Collaboration
Provide clear direction and leadership to the on-property sales coordinator and collaborate with the marketing and F&B teams. Participate in weekly commercial strategy meetings and actively contribute to overall hotel success. Maintain strong communication with above-property sales, revenue, and marketing support teams. Qualifications
3–5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a resort, boutique, or destination environment. Proven track record in group sales, tour & travel, or event-driven revenue. Experience working with motorcoach operators, travel planners, or third-party wholesalers is highly desirable. Familiarity with Marriott sales systems (e.g., CI/TY, OneSource) and Tribute Portfolio brand standards is a plus. Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
