Base pay range: $55.00/hr - $72.00/hr Location: San Francisco, CA • Per Diem Position Summary

Responsible for providing and directing Speech-Language Pathologist services to patients including assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication. Functions under physician’s orders. This position will be a Per-diem schedule based in our San Francisco location. About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our multi-disciplinary team in a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital setting. This position involves working with a medically complex adult population, including patients with tracheostomies, those on mechanical ventilation, and individuals requiring advanced dysphagia management. You will play a vital role in restoring communication and swallowing functions to medically fragile patients, collaborating with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and dietitians to optimize patient outcomes. Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat adult patients with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders. Provide trach/vent care support, including communication strategies for ventilator dependent patients. Manage and trial speaking valves (e.g., Passy-Muir) to facilitate verbal communication and swallowing function. Conduct Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) and/or assist with Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) to assess dysphagia and guide treatment plans. Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based therapy plans. Maintain accurate and timely documentation with regulatory and facility standards. Qualifications / Skills

One (1) year of experience within an acute or LTACH setting preferred. Ability to project a professional image. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. FEES (Preferred; certification/training a plus) MBSS Interpretation and documentation Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills. Strong interdisciplinary communication and documentation skills. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions. Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace. Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Speech Therapist in the state of employment required. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or in the process of completing Clinical Fellowship Year required. Member of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association required. Current BLS certification from an approved vendor required. Attendance

Regular and punctual attendance. Language Skills

English is the primary language of the facility. Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with coworkers and customers and to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product. Seniority level
