Telemetry RN Job Details

  • Location: Belleville, IL 62226 (Greater St. Louis area)
  • Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Telemetry/Cardiology Unit
  • Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (locum tenens)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks, with potential extension
  • Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Scrub Color: Navy
  • Parking: Free on-site parking
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1960–$2010

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry or high-acuity cardiac nursing experience
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Proficiency with cardiac drips (no titration), sheath pulls, and central line management
  • EPIC electronic health record experience required
  • Ability to float to all inpatient units at Belleville and Shiloh campuses
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on a high-risk cardiology telemetry unit
  • Monitor and manage cardiac drips, perform sheath pulls, and oversee central line care
  • Care for post-TAVR, post-CABG, post-VATS, and other complex cardiac patients
  • Conduct bedside shift reports and perform hourly rounding
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
  • Float to other inpatient units as needed within scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC
