Key Job Details – Oncology RN Travel Nursing
- Location: New Haven, CT (06510) – Connecticut healthcare jobs
- Facility: Outpatient Infusion Center – Hematology Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant/Cell Therapy
- Position Type: Locum tenens (Travel Registered Nurse)
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts/week (07:30 - 18:00)
- Weekly Hours: 40
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/31/2025 – End: 1/30/2026)
- Weekend Coverage: Required, with flexible time off during the week
- EMR: Epic charting
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of outpatient oncology nursing experience (bone marrow transplant required)
- Active Registered Nurse license (Connecticut RN license required; pending license accepted)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification
- OCN and BMTCN certifications preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Weekend coverage required
- Travel nurses only (must live >75 miles from facility)
- One professional reference required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Oncology RN Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult patients in outpatient hematology oncology and bone marrow transplant unit
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive care treatments
- Access and manage ports, central lines, and PICC lines
- Monitor and manage side effects, including tumor lysis syndrome, graft rejection, and neutropenic precautions
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and symptom management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including pharmacy, social services, and rapid response
- Document and coordinate care using Epic EMR
- Participate in weekend coverage with flexible scheduling
