Hours

General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows all company standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be required to perform a range of tasks in all areas of the Store as business needs require.

Essential Functions

  • Prioritizes safety and practices safe behaviors in all activities.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greets customers and uses company recognition programs for peers.
  • Assists Customers as needed—register-trained, assists with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
  • Responds promptly to Customer Service requests and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes supplies to maintain cleanliness in the store and restrooms.
  • Maintains professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
  • Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, organized store that is well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises items per guidelines to maintain brand knowledge within departments.
  • Understands Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrates integrity and safeguards confidential information and merchandise.
  • Follows MOS policies and handles transactions with accuracy and awareness when applicable.
  • Maintains productivity by following store best practices and efficient workflows.

Qualifications And Special Skills

Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly and respectful manner. Basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

  • Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; ability to push/pull and lift more than 25 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
  • Stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds.
