General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include greeting Customers, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and performing a range of tasks across store areas as business needs require. The Associate may be asked to perform additional tasks to support customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in all tasks
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe, secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and promptly report unsafe conditions
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect; greet Customers with eye contact, a smile, and a courteous demeanor
- Assist Customers with merchandise and questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner; be register-trained
- Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customer needs; respond to service calls and escalate to Store Leadership as needed
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times
- Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a neat store (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping, restocking/restrooms, disinfecting high-touch areas)
- Maintain professional appearance and dress code adherence
- Execute daily sizing and recovery to ensure neat, clean, and organized presentation
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per monthly guidelines
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards
- Safeguard confidential information and company assets
- Follow MOS policies, processing, and notifications for disposals
- Handle cash, checks, charge cards, and refunds with accuracy and integrity
- Work with a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and follow store best practices

Qualifications And Special Skills
Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds
- Ability to use janitorial equipment and other store supplies
- Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds

Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is $17.66 - $18.16 per hour, dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Benefits available to all Associates include various insurance programs, Associate Discounts, retirement plans, and other benefits. Certain roles may be eligible for bonuses based on performance.
