Location Description

The Post Consumer Brands plant in Asheboro, NC, features modern cereal production technology and has quadrupled in size since 2007. With over 230 team members, the facility produces innovative cereals like Oreo O's. Asheboro is conveniently located near the Atlantic Ocean and the Blue Ridge Mountains.


Responsibilities

Works under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Responsible for mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Supports and maintains food safety and quality practices per SQF standards, ensuring all duties support plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices.

Work Schedule

  • 5:30 PM - 5:50 AM
  • 2-2-3 schedule with overtime and every other weekend off
    • Week one: 2 days on - 2 days off - 3 days on
    • Week two: 2 days off - 2 days on - 3 days off
  • Plans and directs maintenance work for the shift.
  • Coordinates work activities of maintenance staff and contractors.
  • Supports production across the facility.
  • Creates work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues.
  • Ensures a safe work environment.
  • Resolves operational problems to minimize impact.
  • Collaborates with departments for smooth operations.
  • Keeps accurate records (work orders, downtime, absenteeism, etc.).
  • Encourages suggestions to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Informs supervisor of operational and employee issues.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: 1-2 years vocational training in maintenance mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, electronics, and programmable computers. State licenses in boilers, electrical, or refrigeration are preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in plant maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs. An associate degree or technical certificate in Mechanics and Electronics, with two years of supervisory experience, is preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team interaction.
  • Ability to learn computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Knowledge of fluid power, industrial electricity, mechanical components, PLCs, welding, machining, robotics, and rigging. Familiarity with preventive maintenance, plant operations, and safety regulations is desired.
  • Ability to supervise department personnel fairly and consistently.
  • Problem recognition and resolution skills.

Works under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, responsible for plant maintenance, supporting food safety and quality standards, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
