Location Description
The Post Consumer Brands plant in Asheboro, NC, features some of the most modern cereal production technology in the industry. Since opening in 2007, the facility has quadrupled in size. The Asheboro team of over 230 employees produces innovative cereals like Oreo O's. The town is conveniently located a few hours from the Atlantic Ocean and the Blue Ridge Mountains, offering a pleasant environment for our team members.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Support and uphold food safety and quality practices in accordance with SQF standards. Ensure all duties support plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Work Schedule
- 5:30 PM - 5:50 AM
- 2-2-3 schedule with built-in overtime and every other weekend off: Week one: 2 days on - 2 days off - 3 days on; Week two: 2 days off - 2 days on - 3 days off
- Plan and direct maintenance work for the shift
- Coordinate work activities with maintenance team and contractors
- Support production across all facility areas
- Create work orders and preventive maintenance schedules
- Troubleshoot equipment issues
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Identify and resolve operational problems to minimize impact
- Collaborate with other departments
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities
- Encourage suggestions for improvement
- Report operational and employee issues to supervisors
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: 1-2 years vocational training in maintenance mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, electronics, and programmable computers. Knowledge of production machinery is essential. State licenses in boilers, electrical, or refrigeration are preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in plant and equipment maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs. An associate degree or technical certificate in Mechanics and Electronics plus two years of related experience is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others
- Ability to learn computerized maintenance management systems
- Knowledge of fluid power, industrial electricity, PLCs, welding, machining, robotics, and rigging
- Understanding of preventative maintenance, plant operations, and safety regulations
- Leadership skills to supervise department staff
- Problem recognition and resolution skills
