A growing managed services provider (MSP) in Washington D.C. is looking for an experienced
IT System Administrator Tier 2.5/3 (MSP)
to join their team. This is a client-facing, project-focused role ideal for someone with deep infrastructure knowledge who’s ready to lead implementations, troubleshoot advanced issues, and deliver high-impact results across diverse environments.
Responsibilities
Lead and support technical projects such as server migrations, virtualization, and cloud implementations
Manage and document infrastructure projects from planning through delivery
Work directly with clients and internal teams to maintain timelines, manage risks, and communicate progress
Proactively identify and recommend system improvements or optimizations
Support ongoing business and technical planning efforts
Your Technical Expertise
Windows Server (2008–2022): Design, support, and troubleshooting
Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, SAN, V2V and P2V migrations
Networking: VPNs, VLANs, packet-level analysis, LAN/WAN, routing, switching
Directory Services: Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
Familiarity with tools like ConnectWise, Kaseya, Autotask, Datto, N-able, IT Glue is a plus
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience in a MSP environment
Experience with the technologies listed above (VMware, HyperV, Azure, M365, etc)
Experience serving as an escalation point
Proven ability to complete technical projects such as cloud migrations and office build outs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to coordinate across teams and deliver client updates clearly
Salary range: $80K–$90K, based on experience
