General Description The Orange County Health Department is accepting applications for a Social Work Supervisor II- Family Success Alliance position.
The work involves the responsibility for managing the Family Engagement component of Family Success Alliance (FSA) by providing direct supervision to Family Navigators. The program serves at-risk, vulnerable communities of Orange County and promotes healthy outcomes. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Community Services Director with some leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work and in making decisions regarding client needs and requests. Supervision over others is required of this position. Position does related work as required. * Background Check is required.
This position may require an SBI background check with fingerprinting due to the passing of GS 2025-16 effective 10/1/2025.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
AND
three (3) years of working experience in navigating human service systems, participating in community engagement to identify community resources and work experience in the direct intake, referral, and data management of programs,
AND
1 year work experience supervising staff
OR Graduation from High School or General Educational Development (GED) test equivalence
AND
seven (7) years of working experience in public health in Orange County, preferable experience navigating the Orange County community as a Community Health Worker
AND
3 years work experience supervising staff. North Carolina Community Health Worker certification highly preferred. Case management or home visiting experience or direct experience with the Family Success Alliance program is preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above. A higher degree does not substitute for work experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. All offers of employment are conditioned upon successful clearance of a background check. Employment cannot commence until the employee has been cleared. Orange County contributes $100 per pay period ($2600.00 annually) for supplemental retirement and you will have the option to select between which investment firm you would like to have these funds contributed to.
